Critical Incidents: Mitigation, Preparation and Response Class
Service Description
Built on a modified version of current DHS “Run, Hide, Fight” guidance—applied as the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) framework—KCV combines neuroscience‑informed training methods, considerations for live, work, and play environments, and real‑world operational experience to guide students through high‑quality emergency management training that enhances their ability to act before, during, and after an incident. Topics and benefits include: • Bolstering readiness by identifying and mitigating risks in the places you live, work, and play • Critical Incident mitigation (recognizing insider threats, and other threat vectors) • Everyday carry (EDC) considerations • Vehicle and personal-based threat response tactics • Close‑quarters combat trechinques • Decision‑making under stress and enhanced stress resilience • Unarmed and improvised defense options • Post‑incident interaction with responding law enforcement Participants leave with a clearer understanding of what constitutes a critical incident, how to mitigate risk ahead of time, and how to act decisively and lawfully when there are no good options—enhancing personal safety, organizational resilience, and community preparedness.
